About Bali, the Island of the Gods

We can recommend tours and activities along with personally recommended drivers who can take you out on day excursions. If you would like to know more just mention it at the time of booking your course. We are more than happy to help with any arrangements.

Bali is truly a magical place. Full of kind-hearted people, some of the most amazing beaches in the world and packed with a rich cultural heritage that is everywhere you look.

Here is a quick insight into what makes this island so special.

Why not extend your stay and explore a little further afield?

Many thanks to Thomas Despin for the video.
We are more than happy to recommend excursion packages or private drivers and help make arrangements for your exploration of this beautiful island.

Sanur

Your training is based in the small and vibrant East coast town of Sanur.

The training venue is in the heart of the town, close to the beach and other attractions.

Sample the wide variety of food on offer in Sanur from the street vendors selling Nasi Kuning (yellow rice, a breakfast favourite) and Pisang Goreng (fried bananas) to every conceivable taste of international cuisine.
Sanur has a great laid-back vibe. The main street has numerous bars and cafes along with a selection of local craft shops and plenty of restaurants. The 5km long beachfront offers a great way to sample the sea air with a brisk early morning walk or unwind in the evening with countless culinary distractions along its length.

Paralleled by a tropical fringing reef the water is clear and calm all year round and is ideal for a swim to cool off and relax. Sacred Mount Agung on the North East of the island can be seen against the skyline from Sanur beach.

Getting around is easy. As Sanur is pretty much one street which is parallel to the beach it is almost impossible to get lost. Everything is more or less in walking distance but taxis are always on hand, along with the local bemo vans (small shared taxis that will take you anywhere locally for 5000 IDR).

Ubud and the rice terraces.

Rice terraces in Ubud, Bali
Ubud, in the foothills of Mount Batur, is just a short road trip from Sanur and is well known for its vibrant arts and crafts scene.
Located in the hills Ubud has a cooler feel than the lower lying beach areas further South. Highlights include the Monkey Forest where the lush tropical backdrop and temple buildings give a great background to the troops of monkeys who live in the forest.
Just a short journey from Ubud there are some very impressive Rice terraces where it is possible to take a break and soak in the stunning views.
All around the Ubud area are many places where you can do some coffee and tea tasting after being introduced to how Bali’s famous Kopi Luwak is produced and prepared.
Free tasting samples are provided which include many different varieties of tea and coffee. Ever tried saffron tea or lemongrass coffee? This could be your chance to sample for free some of the exotic brews on offer, and if you so choose finish up with a very reasonably priced cup of the most famous coffee of all, Kopi Lewak.

Temples

Pura Besakih

The oldest, holiest and largest temple in Bali, the ‘Mother Temple of Besakih’ is a sprawling complex of twenty three related temples spilling out over six terraced levels on the slopes of Mount Agung.

Pura Tanah Lot

Perched atop a rocky outcrop jutting out into the Bali Sea, this hauntingly beautiful temple is especially stunning at sunset, when it creates a spectacular silhouette against the dimly-lit horizon.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu

One of Bali’s famous nine directional temples built to ward off evil spirits, Pura Luhur Uluwatu sits atop a soaring 60-metre cliff. Its spectacular location is enhanced by the nightly kecak (traditional dance) performances.

Ulun danau

Built next to a picturesque lake in mountainous Bedugul. Often in the mornings the lake can be shrouded by an atmospheric cover of mist, adding to the tranquil feel of the temple.

Pura Tirta Empul

The sacred Hindu temple of Tirta Empul is believed to be over 1000 years old. Make an offering before bathing your worries away in its holy water springs

Goa Gajah

Revered for its awe-inspiring cave entrance, carved out of the rock in the 11th Century to resemble a fearsome demon. A truely beautiful temple complex.

Natural wonders

Bali is beautiful! From soaring mountains which run across the centre of the island to the bright tropical paradise of the underwater reefs.
Enjoy mountain trekking for a dawn view across the ranges. Try mountain biking through the rice terraces. Waterfalls and jungles, amazing beach and cliff views. Experience the calm and tranquillity of the West Bali National Park. Marvel at the beautiful mountain lakes in the interior. Head over to Nusa Penida and Lembongan Islands. There really is so much to see.

Activities

Away from the beaches, mountains and temples, there are still plenty of things to keep you occupied. Bali has a host of activities on offer, from soaring in the air when parasailing to enjoying the vibrant colours of the underwater world either snorkelling or scuba diving.

As you can see there are a wealth of experiences and activities on offer in Bali. Why not stay on after your training and do some exploring? There is so much to see and do around Bali which means you certainly won’t get bored!
